Some of our horses...

Artemisa
It all began with Misa, our first rescue horse, whose incredible journey of healing and growth inspired us to help more horses like her. She has overcome immense trauma to become a beacon of hope and healing for so many. A permanent fixture of the sanctuary and beloved partner of our founder Tara, Misa is truly the heart of Unbridled Sanctuary.
-
Ixchel
Our brilliant Ixcha, who was dumped at auction heavily pregnant, and nearly completely feral, has the most beautiful story of overcoming adversity. She has blossomed into an incredible partner, and after 5 years in our sanctuary she made the long journey this year to her new guardian all the way in Australia.
-
Precioso
Precioso was donated to Unbridled Sanctuary with the promise that he would live out his days here at the ranch. As an older stallion who had limited socialization prior to his arrival here, he thrived in his new herd, blossomed physically and mentally, and developed a deep love of liberty. Tragically, his life was cut short by aggressive cancer in 2022.

Ataecina
The daughter of Ixcha who was born shortly after being brought home from auction, Cina grew up in the Unbridled Sanctuary herds knowing nothing but love and respect. As she grew up into a beautiful and confident young mare, Cina was placed into an amazing home, where she and her new family have developed into quite the team!

April
April lived on the raw land we built our ranch sanctuary on, and when we purchased the property, her previous caretakers didn't want to take her with them. This tiny little ray of sunshine joined our herds, thrived in learning how to be handled, participated in liberty and trick training, and eventually was placed with an Equine Therapy Program where she assists in Equine Facilitated Healing and Therapy.
-
Corajoso
Cojo was donated to the sanctuary after experiencing unexplained lameness and pain behaviors that made him complicated to handle and unable to be ridden. He thrived in our sanctuary for several years, undergoing extensive bodywork and healing to help him be comfortable, living in our stallion herds and enjoying the freedom of life unbridled. Sadly his progressive degenerative conditions continued to progress and he was laid to rest in 2023.
